The Lafargue Institute is an emerging big tent left‑wing think tank project dedicated to bringing together researchers and activists, to produce accessible, rigorously argued work that supports and speaks to policy makers, media outlets and opinion leaders.
Named after Marxist writer Paul Lafargue the Institute aims to connect historical ideological analysis with present struggles: from labour and automation to housing, climate, and infrastructure.
The Institute is currently in its founding phase. We are building a small, international network of contributors and collaborators who help with research, writing, translation, editing, design, and organizing.
The institute is dedicated to the creation of reports, op-eds, research papers and practical toolkits for policy makers based on big, bold ideas to advance left wing causes for the 21st century.
We are independent of governments and corporate funders, grounded in socialist and feminist principles, and committed to transparency about our methods, governance, and funding.
We are still in the process of assembling the core working group and governing board. The Institute is currently in its founding phase, led by Mia Mulder (founder), with a Core Working Group being formed from contributor responses.
